CoderSpace creates engaging learning experiences to inspire a new generation of leaders and innovators. In our intensive 8-week summer apprenticeship students learn three computer languages that power the web (HTML, CSS and JS). Through hands on training, CoderSpace youth work in teams to design and build websites for local clients while gaining real world experience in web development, teamwork and leadership.
Throughout the summer CoderSpace youth participate in regular business trips to explore a range of opportunities in the technology sector. The program culminates in a Demo Day where student teams show off their summer projects to family, friends and supporters.
This summer we are particularly interested in working with youth who are committed to starting a coding club in their community. Participants will take the skills they learn at CoderSpace and share them with their peers -- an opportunity to enhance leadership and coding skills through teaching. For youth interested in this leadership opportunity, CoderSpace provides resources, support and ongoing training at weekly Saturday sessions during the academic year.
